About The Muslim Housewife
Welcome to The Muslim Housewife-a blog about redefining the present day Muslim Housewife
I’m Farah Anwarullah, born and raised in good ‘ol Michigan. I am a full time Mom and Wife and a part time Dental Hygienist. I graduated from the University of Michigan in 2006 and moved to Chicago shortly after. I am presently enrolled in a part-time Islamic certification program. Aside from spending quality time with my husband and kids my interests include homeschooling, cloth diapering, gardening, health & nutrition, cooking, cleaning, reading and Apple computers!
Redefined
What’s the first thing that comes to your mind when you hear Muslim housewife? Perhaps a woman who is middle aged, uneducated, spends most of her time cooking and cleaning, and has absolutely no time for herself. Well I’m here to redefine what today’s Muslim housewife is all about. She’s not only hip and chic, but she also knows how to live a life that balances mind, body, and soul!
Housewives are looked upon as people who just cook, clean, and take care of the kids. It’s time people realize that housewives are capable of a lot more than they think. The work a housewife does in our society is undermined. But if one looks closely it is probably the best and most rewarding jobs a person could have.
Muslim Housewife Redefined: A woman who is confident, empowered, and embraces her roles in life without giving up her sense of self.
Why The Muslim Housewife?
This blog is dedicated to helping Muslim Housewives embrace their roles in life and take pride and joy in what they do. It is a place where limiting beliefs are lifted and the true definition of a Muslim housewife is brought to life and crowned!

Assalamu alaikum Farah. I just got to your blog via a post of yours someone forwarded to me (a post about the headaches due to hasad you suffered after your wedding). It was good to read your blog.
Are you enorlled in the Al-Huda Online Course? The one Shazia Nawaz is in-charge of? I noticed Al-Huda’s name in your Blogroll.
Anyway, keep up the good work (blogging, doing dawah, being patient with your husband’s absences)! I am in Pakistan, but I have visited both Chicago and Troy and Detroit in Michigan. Both are great places, especially Chicago.
Wassalam.

HI I really agree with what the person who began this blog is saying. I feel that a musilm housewife is just like any other person in the world. Wallah its harder to work at home than have a full time job outside the home. I am educated and I am a ho…usewife. I really feel full filled knowing im doing the right thing for my familys situation. Im hononed that i have been chosen to be the wife and mother ive always wanted to be. I also am greatfull that I am educated, blessed, and just living life to the fullest. Its hard to be a housewife in any religion but in our religion its a little harder. We must be the eyes and ears of our children. They learn what we teach them and are held accountable if they dont always do the correct things. So this is a great blog keep going im glad i Joined
